I’ve let my blog posts lapse for too long, but I’m not going to bore anyone with lame excuses because life gets busy and priorities change. I still have quite a few review items in my queue, and I will get them done as soon as I can, which will keep me busy for a while. I apologize to the companies who have been waiting for months, and I appreciate their patience. I’m no longer accepting any new sex toys or adult products to review, unless something super spectacular comes out, because I can’t keep up anymore.

I’ll still consider reviewing erotica and adult titles as long as they’re available in e-book form. The reason I haven’t yet reviewed The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women (Cleis, I am so sorry!) is because it’s a hard copy, and I can’t read that just anywhere. It also can’t sit out in plain view, like on a nightstand, and I keep forgetting about it.

So, having said all that, I meant to post my review for Con, another erotica title from Go Deeper Press, weeks ago after I reviewed Huddle. But obviously that didn’t happen. The full title is actually Con, Book 1: You Can Play It Safe When You’re Dead, and it’s the story of grifters Stelle and Dahlia, twins who secretly fancy each other.

They’re identical twins, but only Dahlia has a birth certificate. Stelle is always the shadow double, working behind the scenes. But right in the middle of an important love con, the twins change their usual routine and trade roles. How on earth could they think that would go smoothly? Of course, it can’t if there’s to be any excitement.

Immediately after the wedding, the groom, a dangerous and powerful man named Hugh, insists on having sex with his new bride, right there in the church. While they’re busy consummating their nuptials, Dahlia is robbing him blind. She gets back to the church to collect Stelle, and catches them in the act, which makes her horny thinking about the times she has fucked him. She can’t keep herself from watching her sister and Hugh, nor can she keep quiet. And that’s when the fun really begins.

When Hugh hears Dahlia and turns to see her, he instantly knows he’s been had, but instead of killing the twins in anger, he lets his libido take over his revenge. As it turns out Stelle and Dahlia enjoy the punishment, and they realize their mutual attraction. Plus, Hugh gets seriously turned on with the whole scene, which just might distract him enough to allow them to get the upper hand and escape a deadly situation.

But then what? Notice it’s a book 1, so I expect there will be more tales of Stelle and Dahlia’s exploits soon.

The sex scenes are hot–I know, I always say that, but they are–and I think Lana Fox does a good job setting up the twins’ attraction. Since Dahlia is usually the one to get the guy while Stelle steals the goods, that means Dahlia has all the sex during these cons. On the morning of the wedding, Stelle fantasizes about her sister while they’re still in bed, and her sexual frustration prompts her decision to swap places.

I’ll admit that author Lana Fox edges a little close to my taboo comfort zone with this one. But since they’re identical twins, them playing with each other might be closer to masturbation than incest, perhaps? At least as con artists Dahlia and Stelle are used to living outside of society’s rules and social norms, so they don’t seem too bothered it. And besides, isn’t a threesome with twins on the list of stereotypical heterosexual male fantasies?
