Pipedream WOW Vibrator No. 5 ReviewI’ve been working on this review for weeks, so I’ve had time to really get to know and thoroughly test the WOW! Vibrator No. 5 that Pipedream sent me. You may remember a few months ago when I reviewed the WOW 1, and WOW 5 is similar in functions and general design, but it’s much bigger in size and more adventurously textured.

But before I go any further, I need to post a correction to the battery installation/changing instructions. In my WOW 1 review, I thought you had to completely take the battery compartment apart to get the batteries in, but actually that’s totally unnecessary because the whole thing just pulls right out. This is true for the other WOW rabbit vibes. Check out the end of the video posted below to see more.

Also like the other WOW vibes I’ve reviewed, the WOW 5 packaging consists of the signature paper sleeve over a plain white gift box with silver lettering. Inside, the vibe rests on a molded, satiny-fabric covered insert. There aren’t any instructions past the product information printed on the back of the paper sleeve. A wee diagram explaining the battery compartment might be helpful, but the rest is self explanatory.

Most rabbit vibes have two motors: one for the clitoral stimulator attachment (the bunny) and another for the shaft. WOW 5 has three motors. There’s an extra wee bullet on the front, near the top of the shaft. It’s actually underneath the squishy TPE covering, and it shares the same control buttons as the bunny bullet. I’m guessing it’s meant to hit the G-spot. Sadly, it doesn’t hit mine, so I can’t really say it does much for me, but it’s not doing me any harm, either.

The controls are located on the handle and consist of a power button, up and down buttons to adjust the speed of the shaft motor and the bullets, and a function button to change vibration settings and shaft rotation. This is where it all can get a bit confusing, and it took me a while to get used to the buttons, but I love that this vibe has a separate power button so there’s an instant off.

The shaft has 8 speed settings and 3 different rotation options: counter clockwise, alternating direction after 2 rotations, and alternating direction after only half a turn (this setting switches the rotation direction back and forth quickly). The bullets have 8 speeds of constant vibration plus a long pulse and short pulse settings. My brain hurts whenever I try to figure out how many combinations you could play around with, so I think it’s safe to assume there’s enough stimulation possibilities there to keep most folks busy.

The WOW 5 is generously sized, both in length and girth. It also has some serious texture. Down the length of the shaft are evenly-spaced raised bands, with dotted ridges on the sides and dots covering the head. The bump covering the wee bonus bullet also sports dots. The clitoral attachment has soft and squishy spikes all over it that really flap around when that motor is on, which feels nice.

While this isn’t the type of vibe I’d normally use under water, due to its size and texture making it more appropriate for extended play sessions, I still wanted to see if it was really waterproof so I took it in the shower with me a few times. I found that the tiny bullet feels pretty dang good when pressed against my clitoris, especially if the shaft is also rotating. I also figured out that the squishy spikes on the clitoral stimulator feel much better flapping against me when plenty of lube is involved.

Both times after showering with this vibe I opened up the battery compartment to see if any water had seeped in, and I noticed a tiny amount in the groove around the base where it snaps back in place. I’m not sure that moisture would have ever made it into the battery compartment, though. But the vibe is still functioning fine so far. Also, I noticed some moisture seeped in under the TPE sleeve covering the shaft. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to pull away from the pink plastic or not, but it does, and that’s where some water snuck in.

WOW 1 and WOW 5 Vibrator Comparison

I think overall this wouldn’t make a good first rabbit-style vibrator because the size and texture could be rather intimidating. The WOW 1 would probably be a better choice for those new to sex toys. WOW 5 is more for those who know they like rabbit-style vibrators and are looking for some new functions and texture to try. This one does the job quite nicely. Its girth gives a lovely full feeling, and the different shaft rotation patterns makes up for the lack of spinning beads.
