In case you didn’t already know, there’s a new line of luxury sex toys called Jopen Vanity. They’re all rechargeable, waterproof, made from silicone, and come in the same pinkish-purple color. There are twelve sleek designs to chose from, but rather than having sophisticated or descriptive names, each one is numbered. I’ve been wanting to try these vibes out ever since I first heard about them, so I was thrilled when the awesome folks at Babeland sent me a Vr6 to review.
The packaging is discreet, but it’s also very minimal considering this is meant to be a luxury vibe. While I appreciate that the thin cardboard box and insert are totally recyclable, usually sex toys in this price range have more impressive presentation. However, I love that there’s a large, drawstring storage pouch included, which has more than enough room for the Vr6, charger cable, and instruction manual.
The charger plugs into a small hole in the back of the vibe. While charging, there is a light that will flash, and once the battery is fully charged the light stays lit. These Jopen Vanity vibes are meant to be completely waterproof. I was concerned about water seeping in through the hole, but I’ve used this vibe in the shower numerous times with no issues, so I know it’s definitely splash proof.
Vr6 is designed to stimulate internally and externally simultaneously, and its shape is unlike any other dual action vibe I’ve tried so far. There’s no cutesy little critter with flappy bits, and the shaft doesn’t rotate. Instead, the clitoral stimulator features a firm tip and curves in towards the shaft. It has some flexibility and can bend back where it joins the handle. The curved shaft flares out, creating a bulbous head with a tapered tip. It has some give in the middle, where it will bend slightly. The silicone has a velvety feel with some surface drag and is pretty firm everywhere else.
This vibe features two powerful, multi-speed motors that not only are nice and quiet, but also have strong, rumbly vibrations. Very powerful, actually. And incredibly rumbly. Even with both motors going at top speed.
The raised buttons on the front of the handle control the corresponding motor: The top button operates the motor in the head of the shaft, and the bottom button controls the motor in the clitoral stimulator. Simply tap the button(s) to turn the power on or off, and press and hold to up the speed. Each button also has its own indicator light. The lights flash as you hold the buttons and stop flashing when you reach the fastest speed.
I love the simple controls, but to me this setup seems backwards. I’m accustomed to vibes that switch modes when you simply push the buttons and turn on or off when the buttons are pressed for a few seconds, so that took some getting used to as I kept accidentally turning the vibe off when I wanted to increase the speed. The other thing is that you can’t decrease the speed without turning the motor off and starting over from the slowest setting. I’d really like for there to be a way move back and forth between the speeds.
Luckily, this vibe has a travel lock. Just hold down both buttons for a few seconds until the lights go off, and the controls are locked, so you don’t have to worry about the power accidentally being bumped on. To unlock, press and hold the buttons again until both lights come on, and it’s ready to go.
While I rarely meet a dual stimulation vibe I don’t like, with this one I can’t seem to position the clitoral stimulator where it needs to be. I think it’s too short and possibly curves inward too much to suit me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m having a lot of fun trying to figure out the most effective way for me to use the Vr6, and I’m certainly enjoying the the awesome rumbly vibrations it produces, but the shape and dimensions are just a little off for my anatomy. Still, I’m totally impressed with the powerful motors.
